3dsmax - ghost objects from REVIT?

As our office is making the jump from autocad to Revit, I'm now working on my first full project using the revit models generated by the production side of our office. I was beating my head a couple times last week, but I'm getting it down and have I am actually starting to enjoy that the grunt work is done by everyone else leaving me to clean up the models make em pretty and crank out final renderings.

But the one thing that has eluded me is when I bring my model into MAX after export from revit I seem to be getting weird objects that are there when you zoom out, but when you zoom in closer they disappear. In both cases you can't select the objects to delete them. In the attached screen shot I have the two viewports set at different zoom levels and you can see in the left a bunch of object that appear to be part of the structural grid, then in the right viewport I'm pulled in one click closer and they disapper.... WTF?

anyone run into this or have any idea what is going on?

I've had a similar issue. This is the process I've been following.

1. Exported from Revit using "exporting as an ACIS model".

2. Import or link the dwg in max

3. Use the marquee to select everything

4. Group the selection

5. Use the selection list to select the ghosted objects.

6. Delete these objects

This is what has worked for me. For some reason the ghosted objects didn't group and I was able to remove them this way.

Hope that helps.
