jackoftrades Posted October 16, 2007 Share Posted October 16, 2007 can someone please tell me whats the difference between the normal bitmaps and vray materials. can i use normal bitmaps for rendering in vray. eg: i want to use a specific bitmap for a wall, can i use that map in vray render. ovzoc Posted October 16, 2007 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Vray materials from the moment that you use Vray are faster for Vray to calculate than standard materials. Also if you have a wall bitmap and you want to use it just attach the bitmap to the vray material and assign it to your object... Even if you make a standard material and assign it vray will propably calculate it as well... but try to stick to vray meterials cause sometimes you may have problems... hughie Posted October 16, 2007 Share Posted October 16, 2007 you attach a bitmap the exact same way as a standard material, go to the maps tab in the material editor, click on the blank tab beside the material slot you want to use (Diffuse, reflect....) and chose bitmap......
