p_4204
Wow! Im stumped. Been working all day and now this...If I create any shape I can not move it on any axis. I can rotate it, resize it, but I cannot move it on an axis. If I Convert it to an editable poly or mesh I still can not move it. If I select the vertices or polygon then it can be moved. As soon as I switch out of edit poly mode a reselect it the Move Gizmo appears . I can select it but it will not move. Wazup.. Anybody?
PAWUK
try out hierarchy then the link info tab,,,try unchecking all the locks... Wouldnt that just be relevant if he had constrained objects after he a created an object, and not for every additional object created. Would be interested if a solution is found or if going through object hierarchy works. Never come across it myself just getting stuck in constraining movement to one axis when i first used max
Jennifer
Have you changed any animation controllers recently? I've had students change the Default accidentally when trying to change a controller (for instance, a Position XYZ to a Path Constraint), and I'm sure I've done it before, too. Control Panel, Motion Tab, Assign Controller roll-down menu, select the Position controller, then the Assign Controller button with the little question mark. http://www.max3ds.com/Download/AssignController.jpg The little 'greater than' symbol next to the controller name shows which is the Default. If this isn't the Position XYZ, then select that controller and choose the Make Default button.
