chadsmith
In AutoCAD the snaps are great! you can toggle through snaps and move around and work efficiently. In Viz or MAX I try using the snaps on a building model and forget it! It takes 4 minutes just for the program to calculate where the first snap should go much less toggling between snaps. It also prevents me from panning or doing anything in snap mode. Is there some kind of script that makes snaps quicker and able to be used? Will snaps work with anything larger than a low poly model? When I import an AutoCAD drawing and try to snap to that then things get rrreeeaaally slow! Help if you can, thanks!
Craig Ramsay
Yeah its a bit of a problem when you import large models, max has trouble updating the viewports. Since I started using max instead of autocad for modeling I dont really hit that problem anymore. Try hiding as much geometry as possible, that might help to speed things up a bit.
