pablo scapi
Hello: I have recently built a dual Xeon 5345 machine, socket 771. Everything works fine, but it makes a ot of noise. my workstation has an identicall case and fans in the chasis, so the noise come out from the 2 cpu fans, my question is if there are othrer more quite solutions for cooling the 2 cpu. In the workstation i have a zalman CNPS 9500 that is amzingly quiet and efective, but for the 771 socket don´t know... For instance i have found this one, that seems to be silent enougth, but don´t know if its effective. http://www.xpcgear.com/clp0303.html Does anybody here have tested this or other solutions? Thank you all.

Macer
I haven't used one, but I've read a couple of reviews of the same cooler (with different mounting) being used with desktop components (socket 775). It seemed to do rather well. From what I can remember, it cooled all but overvolted & overclocked cpu's very quietly. Heres one review: http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling/showdoc.aspx?i=2976 The company has a good reputation for providing very quiet cooling solutions, not extreme overclocking cooling. So if you are running at stock speeds I would say that this is a good option. Hope this helps!
