Final fix for corrupted .MAX files

Attention All 3ds max® and Autodesk® VIZ Customers

 

Microsoft Hotfix 824146 available for 3ds max and Autodesk VIZ which corrects the (.max) file corruption caused by recent Microsoft Windows Updates. (Updated September 2003)

A previous Microsoft Hotfix (823980) which had been made available through Windows Update caused the corruption of 3ds max and Autodesk VIZ (.max) files.P>

 

Whether you have updated to the previous security Hotfix 823980 or held back, you can now update to this new Microsoft Hotfix 824146. This will pick up both the security patch and protect the integrity of your product files.

 

For further information about this new Hotfix, refer to Microsoft Product Support site at: http://www.microsoft.com/security/security_bulletins/ms03-039.asp.

 

WARNING – be sure to back-up any critical data on your system before installing the new MS Hotfix, or implementing any alternative work-arounds.

 

To install it run Windows Update and install all Critical Updates.

 

Note: This is needed for anyone running any version of Windows, regardless of service packs.
