STRAT Posted October 24, 2007 Share Posted October 24, 2007 Hi chaps, any bootcamp techies out there? 1) i can view pc directories on my C drive whilst in mac mode, but i cant write to them. can i change it so i can also write to them? 2) whilst in pc mode i cant even view things on my mac desk top or local drive. can this also be rectified? thank you peepses Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AJLynn Posted October 24, 2007 Share Posted October 24, 2007 You probably have the PC partition formatted as NTFS. OSX can read/write FAT32 (which Windows limits to 32GB) but read only NTFS. Interestingly, OSX can format a FAT32 drive at over 32GB so there may be some workaround that involves using OSX to format the drive before installing Windows. There's also software for OSX that lets you read/write on NTFS like MacFUSE. On the Windows side, MacDrive (commercial software) will let you read/write the OSX disk. I have an external drive that I use to get around this the few times I've needed something on the other partition. For some reason an external can be Fat32 any size and seen by both OS's.
