chow choppe
Hi all i am planning to buy a new quad core PC how do u rate the following configuration intel core2quad Q6600 MB - intel DG33FB XFX 8600GTS card PCI express 256 mb 4GB ram Cooler master cabinet AMora 500W SMPS ( do i need a bigger SMPS than this?) 1KVA UPS Any other configurations to improve this I belong to INDIA and this is the second most famous processors available as told by my vendor Thanks
AJLynn
I'd suggest using a different motherboard - Intels aren't good for tweaking and overclocking, take a look at something like an Asus P5K or a P5B Deluxe (still a good board). Also, I was just reading about the new Geforce 8800GT - it's not that much more than an 8600GTS and is faster than an 8800GTS while using less power than most of the current boards. visions
I would suggest the Abit P35-e Motherboard with 2gb Transcend 667mhz sticks that are available locally in Mumbai with warranty. The Video card may be a little underpowered for intensive max work
shaneis
It would be a good idea to grab a bigger power supply, around 650W should be OK. That will keep it well powered and allow for additional HDD or DIMMs in the future. You might also want to look at a good High Speed Fan for your CPU - keep it nice and cool. Enjoy your new PC. chow choppe
So after a lot of research and pricing issues here i am with final config Lemme know ur comments on this Processor -----Intel Q6600 G0 stepping Code SLACR MOBO ---MSI P35 Neo or Abit Ip35 E ( which is better? ) RAM-----Transcend 4 X 1GB DDR2 800MHz HDD - Seagate 250GB ST3250820SV SMPS (PSU) - Cooler Master Xtreme 600W Cabinet - Cooler Master CM690 with 7 120mm fan slots. Now tell me out of the 2 mobos what mobo should i go for if we don't consider the pricing. Also i am not able to get sapphire or gecube 2600Xt cards. Th e one available with dealer is MSI 2600XT 512Mb DDR4. The other cards available with them were PALIT GF FX5500 ? AGP ? 256MB, 128Bit, DDR, TV, DVI GF 7300GT Super ? Will it be beter to go for 8800Gt 256 mb card rather than the MSI mentioned above? Please help me finalise the config Thanks
