Light material cannot be modified individually?

Hi all

 

Im having trouble assigning different light material intensities to different objects. Even though i have 2 different light materials in the pallet box, when i change the intensity of one, the rest changes as well. I simply cant seem to vary the intensity of light material across different objects in the scene.

 

attaches i a jpeg to show what i mean. I would like those chairs to have different intensities.

 

I cant change the light material intensity of the bigger object without affecting the smaller objects either.

have you checked that the materials aren't instances of each other, if you've dragged the original into a new slot to then alter it and assign to different objects make sure you select copy as your method.

good point...........but i just released my mistake was extremely noobish. I froze the layer without realizing it.
