arrrrrrghhhhhh....strange problem with VIZ...why?!?!

Ok, heres this weird problem, it has happened like 3 times already in different files, only solution was to either import all the materials from some other file (that i know is ok) or to start all over again.

As you can tell by the image the material colors are like pink, why?, check the material i have selected, is just the default VIZ material but toned down to white, see the diffuse?, however the material appears kinda bright pink, also check the materials at the bottom that i havent changed yet, instead of the default grey color, theyre also darker pink, the first time this happened, it rendered ok, i mean, the renders displays the real colors, however it wa annoying and difficult to model since i coulnt see the "real" color in the material editor, but i decided to post in here cuz this time is affecting the render, the materials on the render are also bright pink, and i even changed the light to pure white.

This happened outta the blue, i just click on one material to start working with and it changed all the display colors, dunno why?, the second time it happened after i changed one of the material to be "wire", i saw thegrey wireframe ball, it was ok, but when i decided to start playing with the "wireframe" tiling and width, it also suddenly changed the display colors.

Any idea on how to fix this, is a waste of time to import materials and start from scratch with them all over again.

no, is not that, thanks tho.

The file is just corrupted, dunno how happened, or why, but i cant use it anymore.

I tried to merge materials from other project, but they also loaded "pink", only thing is to start a new project, the new file is ok so i can actually import/merge all the materials, lights and cameras from the "corrupted file" and the materials will load ok, is just that viz file, for some reason.

Not so much work, since i can import/merge everything, all i have to do is assign everything again, and keep on working, but i just hope it doesnt happens again.

this is great! , im starting to think that is the whole VIZ program, maybe ill uninstall and install it again.

After redoing (reassignin) everything again, when im about to run the radiosity caculation, somewhere on 0.0% the VIZ freezes, so i havet to kill it on the WIndows Task Manager, no matter whati do, i cant run a radiosity solution on this new file.

Then i was about to start one more time another new file, and right as VIZ loads, and call the Material Edit. panel, i see all the balls in that pink color, so im f****d up, i can only work on older projects that were ok, but i cant start a new project, cuz its loading all that pink color.

arrrrggghhhhh

You may have checked this already but in case you haven't right click on one of your sample spheres, go to options, and click all the default buttons. Also make sure the top light and back light are set to white. None of this would actually affect the material itself. Only the way it is displayed in the material editor but it sounds like that's what your having problems with anyway.

Thanks for trying, but.....nope....hehehe

Everything in there is set to default, both lights are white and their multipliers 1.0, and the ambient light is default also (kinda black)

I came today to work, hoping that after turning off the PC the problem will dissapear....but....nope, sample spheres still, that dark pink color, I think ill talk to the boss today and reinstall VIZ, this is happening only on my PC, not in the others workstations.
