JPS
Can someoen please tell me how to save a file so that all the materials in the material editor will be in the file when I open it in another computer. Do I have to create a mat.library and save it in a folder and then put it in the other computers hard drive? or is there an easier way.... Many thanks. J. Brian Cassil
The best way to do this is to use the resource collector. It collects all the bitmaps and remaps them to whatever location you specify, like a zip disk or something. Then you can take that disk, open it on another computer and do the same thing, (that way you aren't working off the zip disk). Here's how it works: Go to utilities and hit the more button. Set the output path to some sort of moveable disk (or a network drive if you are using another computer on a network). Then make sure "collect bitmaps/ photometric files" is checked. Also check "include max file", make sure the copy radio button is selected, and check update materials. Finally hit the begin button. It will copy the max file, all the bitmaps being used in your'e scene, any photometric data you are using, and update your materials to the location you specified. It works like a charm. I use it all the time for transporting files between work, home, and school. Hope this helps!

abicalho
File > Archive > Archive File > Archive > Resource Collector Archive will create a ZIP file containing all Texturemaps, and it's not dependant on any compression software being installed (Like the Resource Collector is) Alexander
