blowback
Can someone help me understand how to have your vray proxies show up in the rendering when using Backburner. I know you have to map them but how? I have just started using BB with vray and I noticed my proxies didn't show up. Is this easy to fix?
Chad Warner
You just have to make sure that the proxies are somewhere that backburner can find them. I think by default, vray puts the proxies on the C: drive. You just need to have it put them on a network or mapped drive.

Chad Warner
If they are proxies that you already created, you have to re-direct the proxies to the meshes that were created. Pick the proxy object in max, and in the modify menu there will be a path to the associatd mesh object. Make sure this points to the object on the network. Other than that, I don't know. I've never had any problems with it unless I accidentally made the proxy on the local drive.
dagor
i think the problem is that backburner can`t find mesh file. Make it network shared and update your proxy path in the max scene, as Chad said. The other way is that you can create same folder system on each your network computer and copy mesh file there without updating proxy in max. Just check for each computer that there are some file on the path you use in proxy settings. It must work fine as i know.
blowback
Yeeessss, That was it. Thanks guys. I updated the path in max and it worked. When I rendered locally the proxies would show up but not in bb. But when I updated the mesh in max....they showed up in the bb render. Thanks 4 the help. JamesTaylor
make sure they are mapped with a UNC path and all works fine, no need to copy them locally to each machine.
