mattclasvegas
I noticed that my workstation is coming back with errors in the renders. My farm renders appear to be fine. What would cause this? Could it be bad GI calculations? I've been rendering this basic environment for two weeks and these are the first errors. matt
dagor
Do you use network rendering? It looks like your network computer has no some information like texture or ligthmaps or proxies... Try to render it with gray material override, try to render it with GI and without GI in gray material.
percy
why not go ask at the vray forum? it is their job to support their software there.
mattclasvegas
It was the source (my workstation -- a dual quadcore xeon w/ 4 gig ram) computer that was causing the errors. My rendering farm computers where doing fine. I tried the Vray forum first -- but it said I didn't have permission to start new threads (so I e-mailed technical support and haven't heard back yet). I was kind of hoping that someone here would say recognize the issue and have a quick answer and solution for me. Thanks, Matt
alex3d
they are telling you the awnser. take a look in the rendering process on each little squares you will find the name of the computer doing the wrong calculation. take all the textures that you are using for your scene and put it under the max maps folder. if you want to be 100% do it for each workstation. restart your renderfarm, check the network is working 100% fine, check under vray network that the program see all the ip. and give it a try. do it several times, you will learn from your errors with time. it happens also wen you have diferent version of max or pluggins instaled.
