angus
Hi , I set up a small network at home with only 2 computers I am trying render a single image (single frame, not animation) using both of the computer, is it possible ? what what is the "distribute rendering" option in Vray? I tried backburner, however, is it only for animation or rendering lots of different files? And somehow i can't make both my manager and sever to render at the same time. Please, if anyone can help, how can i render a single image with multiple machines with Vray? thanks
manta
You first need to have vray installed on both...then check the distributed render box...go into settings, or whatever it is right under it, and add the IP address of both computers, then on the other computer, we'll call it the slave, launch the vrayspawner which you'll find in the 3dsmax directory, depending on what version of max you are using will depend on where that is (they keep moving the directory around), once the vrayspawner is running (only on the slave by the way) then try rendering...you should see the buckets of the slave computer showing up in the render window... alex3d
yes angus is not so easy as you think, but there is a lot of info on the web about it, tutorials, etc go to the vray site and look under the tutorials chapter, there is a couple of good vray network tutorials
