Rendermedia
Hi All, I have been given a Z model of a town which I intend to modify and map terrain textures, to, around the centre of town are hundreds of small 3 bed terraced, semi, houses, the camera will not focus on this too much but I was wondering of any way I could procedurally / randomly assign different varying brick/roof textures, Many thanks Mark

Rendermedia
Hi Thanks for the link I have all the models i need, I was just thinking of an efficient way of giving hundreds of houses varying different textures via modifiers or a script Cheers Mark
chiquito
Theres a scrip Mat_id_dashboard you select polys and it randomly assigns ids, use multi material. Tweak many variatians on photoshop. render by material layering?
Simon Moir
Check out the MaterialByElement modifier.
Rendermedia
Hi thanks a lot I will check those out, I think the script could be quite useful as I have hundreds of houses with varying brick faded etc, I was thinking of something to do with the tile procedural map texture in max so that I can get true faded random images across the houses, the only thing I would need to watch is the mapping, although I am quite high up in the air. I will give them all a try Cheers Mark
