Claudio Branch
I recently did some training for V-Ray on-line and through some DVD's. Both covered GI lighting of course, but on the issue of light decay or fall off, both handled it differently. I know that the inverse square decay is designed to replicate the true behaviour of light, but I still have to adjust where the decay begins. I usually start the IS-decay fairly near to the scene, otherwise it seems that no matter how much I ramp up the multiplier, there isn't enough light produced. I am able to get a nice image using either approach, but I thought it would be useful to hear the opinions of others on this topic.
Stephen Thomas
Best to use vray sun and ies lights, as they handle it automatically.
