Vray Rendering Disdribute issue

I have a Macbook (Core2) running Windows XP, 3DMax9 and Vray 1.5. Today I need render a huge image and I want to use Vray RD usin my desktop running Windows XP 64, 3DMax9 and Vray SP1 (with the dongle). I started Vray DR Spawner on the desktop and everything is fine. The window 3DMax window "vray_server_scene" is there, minimized and fixed. I start the render but in the laptop screen show the buckets with the laptop's name. I don't know if is because is a different Windows version.... or because is using two different Vray licenses.

Anybody have any idea about this?

Thanks in advance!

when you use DR with vray your buckets will get labeled by the system that the buckets are being processed by. So you should see them labeled for both the laptop and your desktop.

Also you need to send a job to the laptop through backburner before it will work as a DR render node.....

setup instructions can be found here.....

Thank you so much. I found the problem. The Windows Firewall was blocking the port 30304.

Now I have another problem that it happen time ago with other Vray version...

when I use Rendering Distribute, the bucket rendered by the slave are done in opposite colour!!! I mean it seem like it use a different gamma... I don't know but the final render is useless.

Yes, I have all the maps in both machines. However, I has seen that the problem is about the processors. The laptop is a Intel Core Duo and the desktop is an AMD Athlon 64, so as I seen in another thread in this forum... I suppose that is the problem.

I hope to cHAOS could fix this problem.

Thanks anyway!
