Guest nazcaLine
hi guys i got a very big problem here. been using max 8 with vray 1.5 rc2 and had no troubles. i just changed to max 2008 and vray 1.5 rc3, and thw windows just don't let light pass through. yes, i checked "affect shadows" and "affect alpha" in the material, but nothing, light just won't pass through, i have to make the window no shadow casting. i never had this problem before, what can i do? i'm desperate cause i'm in the middle of a job, and the worse thing is that the glass doesn't change the alpha transparency in the png file, so i can'tmake my comp. i never had this problem before: light passed through the glass and the alpha transparency was preserved. somethig changed in vray 1.5 rc3?? or max2008??? any ideas?? i really need your help, please thank you Eduardo
dagor
there was a bug in RC3 version affect shadow and affect alfa checkbox doesn`t work in Multi/Sub-Object material. just detach your glass geometry and assibne to it simple glass shader without Multi/Sub-Object material. All be fine. Another way is to move from rc3 to rc5. this bug was fixed.
