----------------------------------------------------------------

SHORT TITLE FOR SUGGESTION/BUG/ENHANCEMENT REQUEST

----------------------------------------------------------------

Implement a remote rendering controller.

---------------------------------------------------------------

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR REQUEST

---------------------------------------------------------------

A small application or email based system where one can adjust render settings from a remote pc.

This is a two part system:

Max has the function to email an alert email to notify of a finished frame. Implement a system where max can also send the rendered frame to the specified email address so the user may review the render.

The second part is to implement a system where the remote user can either use a very simple application or even email system to adjust and send render settings back to the working PC and trigger it to start rendering. Image is rendered, sent to remote PC and so forth enabling remote rendering.

This may not be limited to just render settings...

---------------------------------------------------------------

WHY THIS REQUEST IS IMPORTANT TO YOU

---------------------------------------------------------------

Work on the go!!!

If there is already a function like this that i haven't found, please let me know to avoid further embarrassment.

we use maxscript to accomplish some of that

we have a maxscript that runs every 5 minutes. it checks the manager's xml rendering log. if it sees a job that has completed since the last check. it emails the user a unc link to where the frames are rendered. it also also creates a combustion workspace (text file) to compile the animation then again e-mails the user a unc link to the animation.
