Sketchrender
I have to reproduce this window type across 5 towers ranging from 12-28 stories. Can anybody tell me How to model or reproduce this as in a way that will not cause hugh memory loss,. The other options is to show the glass in different plains, or alternative angles shimmering in the light? There are closeups and distant views. Any advice would be gratefull. phil
chiquito
Ok, what I would do: That image is part of a bigger piece, which is part of a raport, or pattern that repats itself, with more or less variations. So poly model that reapeating piece. (rectangles, convert to splines, attach, etc) whetn you reach the frame material as you inset, select faces to be rotated, and dettach them. continue to work on other pieces, come back to pieces dettached and finish them, adjust pivot points, rotate, then select by id, and apply id checkboard with lets say 5 diferent variations on the glass you propose. For far away shots, juts apply a photoshop texture with vray displacement and a map for reflections. Hope it helps, Martin
chiquito
Forgot: After finishing first one, if the others are the same, have a rectangle to fill the perimeters, use this a proxy, then just copy rectangle and it should be easier the work with. By changing the proxy refernce you can have either the full model or the photoshop model. Your choice depending on needs Martin
