Jefferson Grigsby
---------------------------------------------------------------- SHORT TITLE FOR SUGGESTION/BUG/ENHANCEMENT REQUEST ---------------------------------------------------------------- Render settings as part of Camera --------------------------------------------------------------- DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR REQUEST --------------------------------------------------------------- render out put resolution and aspect ratio should be a part of the camera's settings, not controlled discreetly in the render dialogue. this would allow you to send out multiple renders from a single scene without having to constantly change aspect ratios and pixel dimension for each camera, assuming they are different. An override check box could exist in the render dialgue for those that prefer the current method. a output resolution multiplier spinner would also be useful to quickly switch between low, and hi-res output from the render dialogue. --------------------------------------------------------------- WHY THIS REQUEST IS IMPORTANT TO YOU --------------------------------------------------------------- save pointless hassle of constantly toying with apect ratios and resluions of seperate shots. render profiles could also be referenced into the camera controls. Chad Warner
this would work especially well if it was able to be animated.
Jefferson Grigsby
have difficulty understanding the need to animate camera aspect and resolution.
Chad Warner
Sometimes we'll render images from the same scene that are both portrait and landscape. The way it's set up now, you have to modify the aspect ratio per frame. If it was built into the camera settings and able to be animated, you'd only have to set it once. Jefferson Grigsby
gotcha, I do the same thing. However, a better solution would be the ability to script renders into Backburner. Create a visual inferface that saves and loads all of your predetermined render, lighting and camera settings, then drag into backburner to run a batch pass. Sounds too simple, I know. This would save our company hundreds of hours a year. If Autodesk can not pull it off, then maybe we should start hiring programers Lol!!!
