robkar97
I am not sure why I have been experiencing a lot of crashes in 3ds max 2008 recently. Could it have something to do with me having installed Bionatics Easynat? Has anyone experienced the same? Is it "safe" to have several of nature plug-ins (like Onyx and Bionatics) - or will this potentially increase the instability in your experience? Sincerely Robert
Paul Twyman
Hello, Not sure about having both installed I only have easynat but I did have a few crashes at first due to lots of large trees, a memory problem not easynat. Are you using lots of old trees with full geometry? Have you noticed any trees turning red in your viewport? If so it's probably a memory issue. robkar97
My main concern was that these kind of 3rd party plug-ins would make 3ds max more likely to crash or freeze... (besides the memory limitations when using detailed trees). I'll keep an eye open for the red trees :-)
Paul Twyman
Hello, Sorry forgot to mention. If it is memory. Try lowering the '' limit trees to.......triangles in the 3D settings of the easynat settings. This should make it prompt you to optimize trees on creation without losing to much detail.
