i'm not sure that this is what you expect, but here's a quick fix -> try selecting your glass objects and open Object Properties. There, you should UNCHECK "cast shadows". If you additionally use any renderer that supports global illumination or radiosity, it would be good to exclude these objects from processing GI - it will both speed up rendering as well as lighten up the part of the scene behind the glass.

oops haven't read the question carefully... if a quick TRANSLUCENCY is needed, i would try using DoubleSided material, with "Translucency" set to higher values, above 50.0. but more likely that you will have to tweak and fake with additional lights to get the desired effect, depending on your actual scene.

well its an exterior shot of a glass atrium type structure in front ...and the light system is a raytrace setup with a sky light no other lights... basically what i would love to see is the sub pass through the glass so u can see the sun and reflection on this room from the outside
