Guest nazcaLine
well something' very strange is happening here. i recently changed to max 2008 and when i make a rectangle or line, and extrude it, some lines appear in the faces (see attached image) there are no vertices there in the spline, but when i collapse to editable poly the vetices come "real". the rectangles were perfectly orthogonal, it's no curvy. never had this issue before. what is it? any idea? NenadK
I don't have max2008 but this looks as if your spline is interpolated. Interpolation is useful to smooth the curvy segments of splines, but it's obsolete in straight segments. In earlier releases of MAX, every spline by default has value of 6 interpolated segments but also has a "Optimized" checkbox turned on, so that straight segments don't get interpolated. I suggest you check Interpolation rollout and try to check "Optimize", if it's turned off by default. But then again, talking from the top of my head, I didn't actually try max2008 yet. clauco
Check if all the vertexs of the spline were in corner mode before extruding it. Good luck!
Notorious
I have a similar problem, Try drawing an arc, convert to a sline then try and outline. I get some very odd results!
Guest nazcaLine
well i confirmed it's the file i'm working on. i tried doing the same in a new file and no problems. in this file i'm working i imported the geometry from sketchup and something went wrong, i don't know why.
