use of 'fall off ' inmproving reflections

hello everyone :D ...i am a bit confused as to what role does "FALL OFF" parameter plays in (vray material) in improving reflections...i've seen in various tutorials and some 3d interior files,use of fall off in v-ray material...but not able to understand as to what role does it play :confused:

plzzzz help me out on this :(

In real life, find a wood floor and look at the reflection from a viewing angle of 45 degrees then at a near flat angle. You'll see, at the near flat angle, the floor is very reflective as opposed to when the angle is closer to perpendicular. That's fresnel reflection.
