Noely71
Heya, Whenever I try a render with an environment map as a backgroung, the map does not appear. All I get is a black background. I am on studio max 9, rendering with mental ray. Does anyone know why this might happen? And how to fix it? Many thanks, Neil
Justin Hunt
You may have to cranck up the output value of the map If you are using the Physicalsky drop the map into haze slot and adjust the output to suit JHV
ipxstudios
try copying the map into the "self illumination" slot.

Justin Hunt
It does work, but you really have to play with the output values to find what works for you. Its even stranger in Max2008 with the new photographic exposure. JHV
