PAWUK
Hi Got a problem. A colleague in the studio models and renders through Auto cad (yes I know !!!) he has a problem with his PC and has asked me to render up his stand , part of which has a number of shower cubicles. The problem I have is the curved glass (modeled with a thickness in CAD) when rendered using max & vray has this effect (darker blue). Had a similar thing happen awhile ago but I cant remember how I solved it any ideas? Cheers..
fareen
rty modeling the glass in max and then apply the materia.
clauco
Could you post your material settings please ? It could be possible you have asigned a color to the exit color slot into reflection rollout, or maybe a color into the fog color in the refraction rollout, or you will have a low value in max depth, both with a low value in the max depth controler. Make sure you have all normals oriented to the appropiate side (exterior) in your glass geometry. Good Luck!
Cortex
Create New VrayMtl Set Refract To white! You will have a totaly transparant Glass. Appy to your object!

Checked my previous posts and last time you solved it by "increasing the fog bias in refractions", but still not sure what the root of this problem you're having actually is. PS. Maybe you could post your material settings and global settings for max depth, then we could tell whether this was a true solution or just a workaround? PAWUK
Hi Found my previous post on the same problem but it didnt seem to work on this model. Ended up remodeling the curved sections in max applied the glass material and all was fine. went back and looked at it again now I have more time it turns out to be a modeling issue ( hate taking on a model from someone else). Thanks for your help guys.. next time I'll look before I jump
Ricardo Eloy
A possibility is that your geometry, being a line with thickness, has no volume. In that case, refractions don't work properly. You'll probably want to: 1) remodel the thing 2) add a shell modifier to it, so it'll have volume (not sure it's viable, though)
