Hef
Hi All, I'm quite new to VIZ 4 radiosity after using standard lights for the last 5 or 6 years and am having a lot of trouble getting my head around it. Also I'm getting quite a lot of internal images to work on recently, so I feel I need to get my act together. Anyone know any decent tutorials. The main problems i'm having is an inability to control the intensity of lights and the materials which I've being using for years seem to act differently in a radiosity scene - colours are more saturated and tend to bleed into entire image-essentially I've lost control over the image. Any help is greatly appreciated. Dave

Jaguar lover
Hi there! If You have a lots of bitmap based material this could be a solution: When using a bitmap for material: In Material roll out chose Diffuse color map, click output and lower the value for Output RGB Level. Now the material appear darker in viewport but will look good after radiosity calc. And You could always use a Radiosty override material on top of the standard material.. /Kent
Hef
Thanks a millions guys! That's really helped. I've a reasonable understanding of the very basics of radiosity but the tip on RGB Output for material solves a lot of my problems. Thanks again dave
Jason Matthews
I know this may seem basic but make sure you have the exposure control set to logarythmic. You can also adjust the brightness, contrast, and midtones.
Psychoscorpic
Regarding RGB Output Level, you need to do the OPPOSITE with RPC Content: Set the RGB Output Level to somewhere between 2 and 2.8, else the trees & people will render nearly black. roarke
yes...it was a nice suggestion regarding the RGB output. it really helps to read stuff from you guys. One question, if your using radiosity do you need other lights? like omni, spotlight, free direct?..or is this a stupid question?
