yup... check out the script.... and if you don't...

safest route is to have them export you a .3ds file, and make sure @ export they set the system unit to 1000mm. Regardless of if you are working in inches or otherwise your export has to be at 1000mm

I gave up on trying to figure it out, but it works so even though I use our lovely crazy american inches, it all works perfect, so I've just accepted it.

take a peek at this thread (also has the link for the script that was mentioned)

Gday Ky,

Hows thing been?

For this archicad file, what format are you getting from them? i used to use the ArchiCAD to max work flow for ages and had a pretty nice little system going, so i can help u as much as i can. :)

Gday mate - very very busy; and getting busier the closer we get to that horrible Xmas date.

Still awaiting supply of the file - I do however have a copy of ArchiCad 10 we use in the studio here. Fingers crossed it arrives soon!

Got it going...but...

The file i have is v10 luckily, so I downloaded all the Cadimage tools etc and installed them, but when I try pulling up the 3d model of the file, I get a Cadimage Macro error...

"File not found in the library while operating on file "CadImage Macros"

Im lost, any ideas?

Hey Ky,

make sure whoever sends you the ArchiCAD fle sends it as a archive (.pla) so it include all external material / references etc.

I work with archiCAD -->max alot and have only really found those plugins useful for welding verts.
