After image files of uniformed school kids

Just realised that doesn't sound good..

 

I need some image files for the above, as we have nothing for education projects. I can get lots of files of generic kids, with rucksacks on etc.. but to make it look like a school shot, I really need some images of kids in uniforms.

 

It doesnt really matter what the uniform is, its the representation that matters.

 

Obviously, my best bet will be to go and photograph, with a local schools permission of course, some kids in situ at a school. Build my own library up.

 

But I dont have time for that at the minute. So.. any good resources..?

50% of my projects are PFI schools and I don’t have one uniform in my collection

I have looked at going into one of the client schools to take photos, it is so much haste, there were criminal background checks, school release forms and parental release forms.

I figure the easiest way would be to get some 3d kids and remap the textures with uniforms.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I'm actually shocked you got as far as you did. I'd think most schools would just shoot you down without question. Other than poaching the shots (very risky in my opinion), my only other thought would be to buy/rent a few uniforms and get some parents/children you know really well to model.

we've just gone through the same progress.

 

we rounded up friends and relatives and neighbours on the street that had children, asked them if they wouldn't mind their children appearing in a couple of images in their school uniform (and got them to sign a consent form too).

(of course, the kiddies each had a bag of candy for their eforts )

 

we then hired a local studio for a coulpe of hours and did the shoot ourselves. much cheapness and good job done

Cheers guys.. figured as much that its a "DIY" with friends / relatives..

 

I do have some RPC's, but they just dont cut it in terms of poses etc..

 

I am trying to only use them for conceptual P'shop stuff..

 

Oh well.. I reckon we just use some non-uniformed collections for the time being and then its off to bribe some friends....
