Rendermedia
Hi all, Is there any reason as to why importing DWG files will create Duplicated Faces in Max, I have a DWG file that comes in as linked gemoetry, I go to utilities panel in Max and Collapse the file to one editable mesh, then on the Model apprears duplicated faces, even if I weld all the Verts together the duplicate face is still there, as well as this the normals are also sporadically flipped, I have never used Auto CAD before and so I am trying to find out where the problem could lie so I can fix it, I have tried weldign verts in Max but the face still sits on top of the other crosshatching as you Navigate in the viewport Many thanks in advance Mark
ctk111
I've never experienced this problem and I've file linked or imported numerous Acad models. Are you sure there aren't overlapping faces in the Acad model?
bingm
True....importing meshes from CAD creates extra meshes in 3ds Max 9, never had this problem in previous versions. That's why you have to clean up your meshes before rendering especially when you're using vray, Otherwise there will be some black splotches on your rendering.
