Interior shots - Maxwell vs Mental Ray

Hey guys,

 

This is my first post so I thought I'd make it a WIP comparison of Mental Ray vs Maxwell Renders that we've done recently.

 

Keep in mind that this maxwell frame is only at an SL of about 15, so the 'graininess' is not something to hold against maxwell.

Please let me know what you think, we are pretty new to using Mental Ray and Maxwell for this kind of application and would love to hear all comments / critiques.

Hi, Phil! Welcome aboard!

To be honest, I can't see much difference between the two pics. I mean, this particular scene is a bit too dark for a fair comparison to be made. A daytime scene would have been better, imho.

Here's a lighter shot of the same unit in Maxwell for comparison. We are just starting to get nice looking, better lit shots in MR but it has been a lot of trial and error.
