This is my first time trying to do a high quality - photo real render.

I looks good but it seems you are having some anti aliasing issues as things look a bit jagged. Also it needs some reflections. The image looks a bit flat. The plants are good and render fairly well but I would add some other ones and not try to use the same plant over and over. It becomes apparent to someone who really is looking at the image. Overall it is good.

Overall very nice picture, the things that come to my mind, we need a horizon here with some nice sea or sunset things going on. The ceiling is very much present and not attractive, either lower the cam or make some small texture adjustments with segments / bump map.

 

the chess game is very nice idea but feels to flat for me, could you try and raise reflection just a bit? I think these things would help make the image even better if you like,

I'm goint to put some montain in the background, the sea is in the opossite side

 

I'll add some reflection and maybe more bump to the chess, it will take some time because I'm currently working in other renders.
