smr_VIZ
I am an newbie. Here is my first test rendering. I put the glass curtain wall and some basic lightings in the max drawing. The setting is based on what I understands so far but definitely not accurately. The image coming out is too dark and with many dots. I just don't know why. I here attached my image. Hopely you guys can give me some basic comments so I can improve this rendering right away. Thanks a million,
AJLynn
That looks like an IRMap pass, not a render. Are you using Don't Render Final Image, or whatever they're calling that these days?

Ricardo Eloy
First, you might want to start a new thread for your own questions, mate... Second, take a look at your AA filtering and at the VRayMtlOverride for the grass issue.

smr_VIZ
Turn off Show Samples under Irradiance Map. Thanks, Rick. That is exactly what cuased me the problem. Now, I have better rendering pictures, but the image is not clear no matter how I adjust the Image sampler. This is kind of sad too since I never experienced the same problem in MAX before. I always can produce sharp image with some changes in antiliasing. I guess this would be another setting I forgot to turn on or off?

smr_VIZ
Post your settings and we'll see what's wrong (or not)... Hi, Rick. here is the image. In max file, I deleted a lot of details, so if you see that is not a complete building, please don't be surprised. I didn't model this building. The problem I have is not be able to create a sharp image, and the reflection on the glass is not good. If I put up a sphere to represent the sky, then file will take 10 minutes to render such a simple scene, I think again there is some settings I didn't do it right. What should I change? Thanks for the help, rick.
smr_VIZ
Hi, all: I figured out that the problem with my image is sth related to the image sampling settings. Now I want to shift my focus on the VRay materials. My first q would be the material for the glass. So the reflectiona and transparency issue is the key point I need to tackle right now. I wonder if anyone know a link for explaining the parameters inside the material settings? Does Vray material really can produce convingcing glass materials? ANyone can convincing me for this issue?
