Tommy L
Oh dear. I installed said component and now I cant open my files for my current project.....'File open failed' error.
Ricardo Eloy
Doesn't make sense, Tom. The dotNet extension has nothing to do with how 3ds max saves or manages the files, only how the software uses the video card and stuff for display. The files shouldn't be affected at all (and here we use files made with max 8 and everything works just fine).
Tommy L
Yeah that was kinda weird and totally freaked me out. It wouldnt open any job files out of one folder. Worked on everything else. Re-booted and alls well with the world..... just a windows glitch maybe. Max runs much nicer now. I cant get any textures to show in the viewport on Max 2008. Downloaded the latest nvidia drivers, running in directx 9. I think its just because its a crappy card: 7600 GS. Am I missing something? Thanks. Ricardo Eloy
Crappy? I have a 5700FX and everything works just fine. Have you tried to turn the "show map in viewport" option not for the material, only for the specific texture? I mean, I have a few machines here that simply crash when I ask to see the texture on the material level. I always have to go to the texture level and ask specifically for it (now I got used to it and even forgot about it).
