A friend of mine sent me a link to a new social networking site for travelers. So I decided I would set up a dedicated travel forum to test this out with our community. You list all of your trips for the year and hopefully you're in the same place at the same time as someone you know.

http://www.dopplr.com

You can search for my name and share your trips with me. I will do the same. If you subscribe post a note here and let people know. Maybe we will be able to form some impromptu CGA gatherings.

There's a lot of places I want to go (Mexican Riviera, Paris, Portugal) but at least I know I'm going to Los Angeles for the first week or so of August--there's this conference I want to attend.

I'm also very likely to be in San Francisco in the next few months for a short visit. Hopefully that included a side trip to Tahoe for some snowboarding, but that takes time.

Didnt know you were a snowboarder Mr Burden. I have moved to the continent with some of the best powder in the world, but I arrived with a newly patched up cruciate ligament, so this will be my first season in 3 years. I reckon a trip to Canada (Fernie) may be on the cards and Ive been told Utah is unbelievable.

I've been snowboarding for over 20 years, though not that often per season.

Ski areas in the East like to say conditions might be 'powder' but while snow here can be fluffy and wonderful, true powder snow requires a higher elevation than any ski area in the East. So...go West, young man. Despite being a westerner I've only been able to ski or board out there once, and it was spring conditions, no better than an average day in the East. Yuck. Utah should be spectacular, get there if you can.
