Ernest Burden III
There's a new advertiser on CGA, Intero Models, from Tampa. Is this business anyone we know? Just curious. The catalog looks very good, and well priced. There's very little information on the site about the models, but it looks like they come only in Max + vray mats. Is that correct? No 3ds versions? Pretty soon I'm going to forced to buy a better model management software than the browser in C4D or WinOS thumbnail views (which shows SketchUp thumbnails but not other 3D files). Chad Warner
I know of several people who've used them to custom model furniture (myself included), and they do very good work. I think the reason they have the banner ad is because the vismasters store sells the product. I don't have any experience with the model collection, so I can 't answer about a 3ds version. Sawyer
I have worked with Alex in the past and I think its a great way to work. I haven't purchased the model collection but I would imagine its a very professional quality.
jackb602
I just used Intero for a project I finished a couple of weeks ago. It featured several pieces of fairly elaborate traditional furniture that I was not particularly excited about modeling myself. They built them very accurately, usually based on one or two photos and some general dimensions. Outsourcing the furniture gave me more time to focus on lighting and materials. You know the saying "fast, good, and cheap; pick any two"? I am not exaggerating when I say this is the first exception to that rule I have encountered. Working with them was a great experience. I think the existing collections they are selling are in .max format with Vray materials applied. In my case, Alexander (the man behind Intero) provided untextured OBJ models which I then textured in Cinema. It was an easy process. Now that VrayforC4D is available, I think that if we ask nicely we may be able to get native C4D Vray compatible versions of his collections. Ernest Burden III
Sounds great, everyone, thanks for the replies. I'll put the collections on my software 'buy when I can' list, and contact them about custom work.
Jeff Mottle
VisMasters sells them too, but Alex is now selling the models individually on his site now and he's paying for the advertising on CGA. VM still sells the Vol1-3 collections exclusively. All of the above comments are correct about the quality of his models. I've seen a lot of models and his are hands down 'the' best I've seen since I started in the industry. Alex is a perfectionist and I can guarantee you if you found a flaw in the models, he'd be working through the night just to fix it.
Brian Smith
For what it's worth, it is easily the best furniture I've come across. Intero Visuals is actually writting the 'Creating Furniture' chapter of one of the upcoming Max books. Besides the models being well built, they are well labeled and each is collapsed to a single object with a multi-subobject material... so that you dont have to merge a mess of objects into your scenes. Also, there is a standard material and vray material version of each.
intero_ua
Thank you everybody for the kind words about Intero Visuals. It is very rewarding to hear when others like your work . We are currently working hard to provide more information about our models and have also begun converting all our models to other popular formats such as .OBJ and .3DS so that very soon they will be available in other programs. Please stay tuned for new and exciting upcoming news. Sincerely, Alexander Gorbunov Intero Visuals
jophus14
I just had a model created for me through Intero and it looked great. It was worth the cost and the turn around was great. I look forward to having them model more furniture for me in the future.
