In this scene i used the sky portal but the time of renderin is very to long and i didn't understand what is the problem. could you help me? could i attach the file? Justin Hunt
What are your shadow samples? If these are high it really slows down the render. 128 samples is a good compramise for quality verus render time. Post your light settings, render settings and an image JHV
brigante
the shadow samples are 16, the indirect illumination is preset Draft with 3 of diffuse bounce. I didn't enable GI because the rendering was very slowly. the exposure control is mr photographic. The are 12 skyportal and daylight with mrsun and mrsky. In this moment i don't attach any file. if you want contact me by mail thanks
Justin Hunt
12 portals is alot, but then again I dont know what the scene looks like , which makes it difficult to really say whats going on. Post the settings and I will help JHV

Justin Hunt
OK thanks for posting, There isn't anything over wrong with your set up. just a bunch of little things which add up to a slow rendering. 1) All materials that have really low reflection and glossy values, turn on Fast interpolate. 2) The material for the cables reflection settings are too high, you will never see the mirror reflections so no need to put them in. 3) The biggest slow down is the floor material, just tuen on fast interpolate and the rendering time halves 4) Instead of 12 portal lights rather use two large ones at each end. Up the shadow values to 64 5) Play with the exposure control to see more light. 6) the orange wall did not have a material so I applied a simple A&D matte to it With these fixes I got the render down to 1:17, It could get better. The original render time was 1:52. There could be other tweeks, I have only looked at this for 10 minutes I attached the fixed file. JHV
brigante
Hi Justin thank you very much for your help, but i've another question. if i want a photorealistic rendering what could i do? because this rendering will be insert in an advertising
Justin Hunt
two major things to pay attention to is 1) textures and 2) lighting. The lighting is almost there, just needs to be cleaned up, possible add a few photometric lights to the light fixings. As to the textures , are you going for the worn and weathered look, ie is the warehouse in use or is it new, never been used before? What else is going into the space? What is being advertised? brigante
where i add a few photometric lights? Do you thing i put in a scene the mr area omni? the warehouse it's new and it'll be a furniture shop. Probably the final img is this. where i get the realistic texture? Thanks so much
Justin Hunt
for the lights Create - lights - photometric lights, there are serveral photometric lights choose a target point and place it in the light fixings. There are serveral websites where you can purchace texture maps but the easieast and cheapest is photographing them yourself. Have a read in the help files about the arch and design, there is a great pdf giving alot if indepth info about how to set these up correctly.
