shader basic parameter ????help

i dont't understand how to use shader basic parameter, i mean blinn what for material ?

oren nayar blinn what for material, anisotropic what for material, strauss what for material ????

yes, F1 is verry helpful but, i don't understand that blinn, straus, anisotropic, multi layer used what for material ??? can you explain (give me a sample for architectural ?)

Type in "shader basic parameters" in the serch bar. It tells you certain type of materila characteristics that each shader is used for.

About a year or so ago, I had asked a similar question and I thought I got a link to another thread on here (can't find it now). I thought Strat had answered it - kind of a reference like:

 

Blinn: I use for ________ and ________

Phong: I use for ________ and ________

 

Haven't checked the "help" lately so I don't know if it really goes into more detail than it did before.
