salf
First of all, you gotta excuse my english, not my main language. Ok then, i got a question, this of course is about 3d VIZ, however it also happens with 3ds MAX. I import my autoCAD models into VIZ to make the rendering proccess, but i've noted that all the "columns" when theyre rounded or "cilinder shapes" the rendered image disp´lays this columns not exactly rounded, not smooth, but like if it was made by a lot of "planar" shapes, you know what i mean? How can i fix this?
Victor Erthal
You can apply a "smooth" modifier to the object with "auto smooth" checked. then you can use higher or lower values (in angle degrees) so that the faces that form the cilynder smoth with each other. I usualy prefer to create the geometry in max rather than autocad, but thats just me.
Tim Nelson
I've found that smoothing on dwg linked drawings doesn't always work that well. To avoid having to do that, all you have to do is set the surface deviation to as close to 0 as possible when reloading your dwg with the columns. This usually works great for me.
