Eric Sosa
*sigh* I need to learn how to write scripts. I'll get to it after I master modelling, vray, compositing, etc. me 2!! awesome stuff joel!!!...do not beleive my eyes! any chance to get a hand of those scripts?...or at least a tip? don't get me wrong, what I have just seen on those animations it's just a probe of mastering 3d tools and, I beleive, we begginners would like to start somewhere. so, i better forget all this silly thing about the displacement proxi. it's not that i'm crazy about it, it is just the wish of making some realistic grass on my 3d visus, than just simply going to ps and make it there. what a lesson! i have learned more out of this thread, then in the last 3 months designing interiors with 3d max and vray cheers...Eric

As for the script, even I don't have permission to use it, and I worked there. I guess we'd better get working on our scripting skills. Of course, if you happen to have access to Architectural Desktop, there's the "drape" command which also makes beautiful terrain. Eric Sosa
However, you can add vray displace to your proxies through the use of the displace map slot in the material you have applied to your proxy. A little less control than the VrayDisplacementMod modifier, but with a little tweaking, you can generally coax something useable out of it. (Also, be sure that in the Vray render Dialogue, under Vray: Default Displacement, that the "Override Max's"button is checked) Aloha, Joel I don't have any "vray displace" choise in the assigned mat "displace map" in my mat browser!!???, there are other vray choises like vraydirt, vray Edge Text, etc. got vray 1.5 installed. How can I add the displace to the proxi...then? Aloha....Eric
FlyinHawaiian
Take the image that you were using in the vray displacement modifier previously and move it into the "displace" map slot in the material that you have applied to your proxy. And just be sure that this is checked: Joel
