@lkion O
Hello everyone i finaly managed to use hdri shop with viz 4 - with your help of course. This is my first image, its been compressed down, but i think the result are good! http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=hdr.jpg Here is another question for all the viz users. In order to use hdr i need to set it as you suggest as environment map and then as skylight. But what if i want to use the light coming from the hdr but i want to have another backround - so i can use camera match technique. Is there any way i can do this? Thank you all
plastic
how did you render that? i don't know the maps you used, but that doesn't look right to me. for different environment & background there are multiple ways. brazil and vray can load their own skylight maps. or you can use a skydome (geosphere with flipped normals and hemisphere) which is invisible to the camera (object properties). Christopher Nichols
This is what I would try: - Use a skylight in Viz 5. - In the skylight settings use a map - Make sure the "Map" checkbox is checked - use a bitmap, and select the hdri image - open the material editor - drag the bitmap from the skylight to an empty spot in the material etidor - a dialogue will come up to copy the map... select "instance' - on the bitmap options, select "Environment" (instead of "Texture"). - Under the Mapping type, select "Spherical" That should work. Now you can have a different environment which will be different from your light.
