printing resolution

whats it to be printed for? if it's for publication then yes, 300 dpi is the standard, but for office /client/or personal use? then 1/2 that would suffice.

 

Even for high standard publication, you'd also get away with 200 dpi, (then sized up to 300 in photoshop) Printers (who'll all ways demand 300 dpi) dont generally know what they're talking about anyway. 300 is just a standard figure to them. *

 

and why you cant render straight out to that resolution, which you should easily, i dont know :(
