Claudio Branch
I need building elevations for a massing model. I am using an aerial image for the building footprints, but I am not sure where to look on-line for the elevations. Any suggestions?
Tommy L
If its local, Id go out with a camera. If its not....well it depends how famous the buildings are I guess!
Ernest Burden III
If its local, Id go out with a camera. If its not....well it depends how famous the buildings are I guess! And where. If its a city, try Microsoft maps and use the aerial photos from the N/S/E/W. If you really need architectural drawings, they are sometimes available from town planning departments, whatever was filed when the structure was built. Really old buildings may not have anything on file due to loss of records or it predating the filing requirements.
Claudio Branch
I can definately go out with a camera, but there are enough buildings that it would still be too time-consuming just for a mass model. However, I do want to be able to capture the heights of each building accurately. It got me to wondering if that data might be available through shp files? I use Google Earth Pro for aerial images. Does it contain shp files of buildings with accurate elevation data as well?
ronll
I don't know the answer, but I wanted to clarify your question. By "elevations" you mean the heights of the buildings, not the picture of the facade, correct?
