chow choppe
I am working on a quad core machine with a 512mb card Hd3870 While working in max9 in 64 bit windows if i work on a heavy scene max crashes and gives error if i use direct 3d as viewport configuration driver and i again try to open it it again crashes. If i change to openGL thefie works fine but then my vieport navigation is slow as compared to sirect 3d. How can i solve thiss issue because i ahve always heard that we should use direct 3d in 3dsmax. Also FYI i am using directx9.0c Thanks

ebad
wow! I was looking for a solution for my problem and I thought that this is my own problem! My Hardware is too different but I have same problem! CPU : AMD X2 Dual core 4400+ VGA card: nvidia Gfource 7300 And Windows xp x64 edtion also! I have found out a point, did you know? when I open the dxdiag and goto the 64bit version of dxdiag, I found that the version of directx is "not found" And I think there is some problems with installing dirrectx on this windows I think the dirrectx can not operate in 64bit mode, and it acts as well as in windows 32bit edition. please let me know about what you find about this problem. jarggo
I got the same problem. In my case it happens only when using Vray. And when "show map in viewport" used (read: always).
