Eric
I'm curious to know how others handle an animation that moves from the exterior to the interior. I'm using photometric lighting on the interior (mainly Erco lights) and need to show sunlight on the exterior. When I add the daylight system it screws up the lighting levels inside. What method do I need to use to include exterior and interior lighting in one seamless animation?
stefkeB
Animate the exposure control settings with the regular keyframe tools. You best use Logarithmic exposure.
Eric
hmm, I never thought of that!! I'm setting up a test scene right now (an empty box with a couple of IES lights for interior, and some windows and doors (rough openings) with sunlight. I'll give it a try. Crazy Homeless Guy
in the past i have set up 2 files. one with ext lighting, and one with int lighting. i import the same camera path into both files, and render a overlap of about 100 frames. then in aftereffects i fade between the 2 as i go inside. the results usually work ok. it usually looks like your eyes are adjusting for the change in light intensity. Eric
hmm, that's a good idea too. Sounds like there are several work-arounds, and more than one way to do it.
