Spooner04
Response time: 5ms compared to 3ms compared to 2ms Contrast Ratio: 700:1 compared to 1000:1 compared to 3000:1 In your opinion is the difference between these specs noticeable in our line of work? I would go to a retailer and look, but I don't trust the guys to have them set up correctly. Does anyone know of a site that does reviews that cater specifically to the CG industry and doesn't deal with gamers or home entertainment? alfienoakes
contrast ratio definitely makes a difference.. Its the difference between the whitest white and the blackest black. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrast_ratio Response time.. maybe not as important really. Important for your LCD if watching fast moving sports etc.. but not really for colour reproduction.
Spooner04
Cool. Thanks andy. I also found this link on tom's hardware. Someone did a side by side comparison of 4 different displays. Apparently the actual performance isn't anywhere near the specs. I never would've thought a company would lie about their product just to help sell it. Here is the link....... http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/03/08/four-wide-screen-19-monitors-compared/
