How to get started with Freelance Work?

Hi everyone,

 

As this is a new year and all that, one of the things I am going to try and concentrate on is do some freelance work. I've been working as a 3D Arch Visualiser for the past four years or so, but need to develop more work outisde of my day job. You can view some of my work in this thread

The purpose to eventually go it alone, eventually.

 

My one stumbling block is how to go about getting the work without compromising my current position.
