hansn
---------------------------------------------------------------- SHORT TITLE FOR SUGGESTION/BUG/ENHANCEMENT REQUEST ---------------------------------------------------------------- Improved Scene Explorer --------------------------------------------------------------- DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR REQUEST --------------------------------------------------------------- -Available as non floating window. (See Maya/Outliner) -Real-time-search. (See iTunes) -No check-boxes. Being able to roll the mouse over properties to change them. (Like hiding a bunch of layers in Photoshop) -Grouping that does not need that weird open/close group function. Again like Outliner: Being able to select/edit/delete an object within a group. Also: If I hide a group I also want to have the contend hidden! (Is that too much to ask for?) -Selected objects in the scene should be highlighted in the scene-explorer. -Display options like: Hide hidden/Select hidden/Hide unfrozen/etc. -Folders. (like Photoshop again) -Should pop up in the same layout I closed it before. --------------------------------------------------------------- WHY THIS REQUEST IS IMPORTANT TO YOU --------------------------------------------------------------- Selecting and finding is maybe the number one task in any 3d-package. Finally Autodesk delivers a scene-explorer and then it's kind of useless.. There are free plugins out there that simulate the Maya-Outliner, but honestly, I would like to see LESS tools in Max that can do more than using an ok but not great Outliner for some things (groups), the scene-explorer for another thing, then the Light-Lister for another...opening a lot of windows is slow and clutters the screen space. brightlight
This is a long overdue addition. It should be easier to find everything particularly bitmaps that are too large. I have to use a script for that but it should be seamlessly integrated. This would save a lot of time. I suppose it needs to be more intuitive.
