sunmurad13
i have a cube that i want to have a two toned colour. i was changing colours and i had an idea so while it was rendering i print screened it and i modified it a bit in paint, and now i want to try having the exact same cube but made in 3ds max so that i can do the rendering. The cube looks like this: Is there a way to have it two toned?
baba147
try using "top/bottom" shader...it comes with 3ds max...i never used it but i remember that it gives u ability to have different materials on top and bottom... if it doesnt work then u can use a blend material with alpha map... is the letter R part of material???? Matt Clementson
Or use a gradient ramp with a very sharp cut off point, or use a checker map, or create a bitmap. Many ways to do this - its all going to be in the UVW coordinates.
alrawli
Another option for doing it is to use UVWunwrap and just take it into photoshop and do all the hard stuff there. Very quick very simple.
Ricardo Eloy
Or, if you're not familiar with that, you can use Render to Texture to open the mesh and paint it in PS.
